VVA Fall Growth

Good luck down the stretch in the school seasons for everyone. Lots of tight action as always with great competition in the Valley.

We have had 1,373 sign ups this fall for programs!!!! With Kelsee and Matt leading the way and tremendous effort from our coaches we have been able to make a significant change in the opportunities for girls in the central valley. When we first formed we stated an ambitious goal to have 500 girls in various programs throughout the year and we are well on our way to make that happening. We still have a few months to go and haven’t even gotten started with the 15s-18s yet! We are so grateful for the families who have come and the tremendous effort of our coaches to be present and provide great coaching in these programs!! We truly believe the opportunities and coaching in this critical age window of 11-14 will have a tremendously positive long term impact on the lives of the girls in the area and the quality of play for the club, high school and college teams in the Valley.

It is our hope to always provide great clinics, camps, lessons and training for every girl in the central valley of all ages. We of course also have our teams. We have stated from the beginning our aim to have our athletes reach their max potential through “sound technical principles, a value driven culture, and quality coaching.” While it won’t show up in a stat sheet, we have spent lots of time and made staff changes in order to better grow in this area over this fall. The addition of Mark Rosen (former Head coach at Michigan, former President of American Volleyball Coaches Association) who is one of the most well-respected and known coaches in our sport is a tremendous benefit for all our athletes. Kelsee and Matt’s year around presence and involvement has been extraordinary already. Together with Mark, myself and a few others we have been able to put together more clear guidance for our coaches on techniques and training, clear values (Respect, Compete, Resilience, Learn), and quality coaching principles we expect to see in all our coaches. We believe with the tremendous experiences and insights of our coaches to bring their own unique personality and vision for the teams and players mixed with the organizational principles that it will provide the best outcomes for the athletes, parents, coaches, and teams.

Lastly, we have men’s volleyball coaches, USA National Team level coaches, college players of every level, high school coaches, women’s college coaches, junior high coaches, and former college players. Coaching is a crazily complicated profession. The shared collaboration of ideas, relationships, resources and more make our staff so exceptional to be a part of. There are so many experiences we can lean on each other to solve the constant evolving dynamics of team performance and individual behaviors. I am so proud to be a part of this network of coaches and leaders in the volleyball community. We look forward to this upcoming year where we will get to be together in person more as a club in the new facility (which continues to be on track to opening this season.)!!
